Casey Neill: A Great Way To Clear The Cobwebs

by Barbara Mitchell on December 23, 2009

It’s hard to imagine a more fitting way to clear the cobwebs from New Year’s Eve/New Year’s Day than by diving into a Casey Neill show. Neill’s rough-hewn acoustic-y punk channels the energy of the Pogues while leaving plenty of room for crying in your beer and nurturing regrets. At the dawn of a new decade, his timelessly appropriate tunes strike a poignant nerve for anyone who’s trying to make sense of it all while indulging in senseless behavior.

Listen:

9 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 2, Mississippi Studios, 3939 N. Mississippi Ave., 503-288-3895, $10
