Will The Cave rise from the grave? Bridge Quartet surprise show

by Tom D'Antoni on March 8, 2010

Drummer Alan Jones’ club “The Cave” may have been closed down by the City, but the spirit lives.  Jones reports:

The Cave is stirring in the grave and the Bridge Quartet will bring it back to fire-breathing life with a one-time-only surprise concert  Monday, March 8th at 8:30 pm, Café Mango, 1215 SW 16th Ave (off Jefferson st), reservations 503-200-5989, $10.

Phil Dwyer ( tenor & soprano saxophone), Darrell Grant (piano), Tom Wakeling (bass), and Alan Jones (drums) reunite for a Cave-raising show at the new Café Mango in Goose Hollow. That’s right: Phil Dwyer’s coming to town! Come and scope out the space for possible Cave-like vibes while you listen to one of the greatest jazz quartets anywhere.

Could this be the new Cave? Help us find out if this great new space has Cave potential. This is an all-ages show, with adult beverages (alcohol) available for those 21 and over.

This will be the Bridge Quartet’s only Portland appearance this year.
