Featuring 40 tracks from Portland’s best indie acts, PDX Pop Now! announced the track listing of their 2010 two-disc CD compilation–the sixth CD installment in seven years of the annual festival.
This year includes previously unreleased tracks from Menomena, Talkdemonic, Dharma Bums, Blitzen Trapper, and many others.
PDX Pop Now! also reveals that:
Deelay Ceelay, Tope, The Angry Orts and The Great Mundane have been tapped to perform at this year’s CD Release Benefit which will be held June 3rd at Holocene (1001 SE Morrison St.). The cover is $10 and that will include a copy of the 2010 PDX Pop Now! Compilation CD. PDX Pop Now! and Holocene have made special arrangements with the OLCC to allow minors into the benefit, so this show is ALL-AGES!
The 2010 PDX Pop Now! Festival will be held July 30, 31 and August 1 at Rotture.

PDX Pop Now! is sponsoring a stage at the Willamette Valley Music Fest on May 8. Portland bands Wampire, Sean Flinn and the Royal We, Y La Bamba and the Joggers will be playing the EMU Amphitheater on the University of Oregon campus.
And, PDX Pop Now! recently sold out their “Make It Pop!” fundraiser in Portland, which featured Colin Meloy of the Decemberists, The Alialujah Choir, Ah Holly Famly, Musee Mechanique, and DJ Jeremy Petersen, raising $5,454 for PDX Pop Now!

An important part of PDX Pop Now!’s mission is community outreach, and on April 15th, the non-profit partnered with Parkrose Middle School, for the third year, to bring 6th to 8th graders the experience of live, local music.
PDX Pop Now! believes it’s Outreach programming is vital to the fulfillment of it’s mission. PDX Pop Now! strives to expand it’s outreach programming through partnerships with other music-focused non profits, schools, government leaders and members of the music community. The organization’s goal is to eventually make it’s school programming available to schools across the region.
