Lisa Mann, Wilkinson Blades and The Cabin Project take stage for Artichoke Music

All-female orchestral Indie Pop sound graces audiences with seamless three-part harmonies

On September 18, Artichoke Music is hosting three nationally recognized Partland bands at its “Imagine More!” fundraiser at Alberta Rose Theatre in Portland. Artichoke Music is a non-profit community music center on SE Hawthorne with roots set 45 years deep in the music, learning, performance and youth communities of Portland.

2015 Blues Music Award recipients Lisa Mann and Her Really Good Band are stopping home from touring nationally. Cultivated through mastery of genres spanning Hard Rock to Rhythm-and-Blues, Mann’s vocals straddle the honey-sweet South and the PNW range like a force-of-nature unique to the West Virginian transplant.

The Cabin Project’s all-female orchestral Indie Pop sound graces audiences with seamless three-part harmonies and an inspired string section. Portland music veteran Steve Wilkinson brings his Wilkinson Blades roster of seasoned players, supporting his original songwriting.

Community Icon Artichoke Music At the Heart of Benefit Concert

The heart of Artichoke Music is its music school, which provides a broad range of music lessons at its current location and through a community outreach program that takes music to those who don’t have access to instruments and teachers. Artichoke Music also offers a listening room for Oregon’s unplugged musicians and appreciative audiences, as well as a store featuring acoustic stringed instruments.

“Artichoke Music has a long history in Portland of bringing people together through music,” said Executive Director Kathi Osborne, “Our ‘Imagine More!’ concert is an opportunity to learn more about Artichoke Music, support its work and enjoy the music of three outstanding bands.”
